A ROCHA CANADA

To provide environmental education programs from a Christian understanding of creation. To provide science and conservation program, conferences, presentations, workshops relating to Faith and the environment. To operate field study centres for conservation, environmental education & outreach activity. To provide quarterly newsletters updating supporters on the work of A Rocha Canada to provide sustainable living with focus on community gardens; facilitating national community garden network.

A STEP AHEAD FOUNDATION

The purpose of the Foundation is to organize, promote and operate "A Step Ahead", a student intensive, interactive program designed to address racism in our Canadian culture and to educate and shed light on ways to control racism using the medium of the performing arts, music and cultural history to show Canadians how to learn to appreciate the differences. And in connection therewith, to do all things that are incidental or conducive to the attainment of the purpose herein before set forth and the exercise of the powers of the Foundation, provided they are of a charitable nature.

A W A R E ASSOCIATION OF WHISTLER AREA RESIDENTS FOR THE ENVIRONMENT

Continued participation on advisory boards (including housing, transportation and environmental working groups). Maintaining a website and Facebook as education and outreach tools to provide information on local environmental issues and events. Provide environmental research and resource to the Whistler community. All studies and information are available to the public. Host monthly educational kids nature club. Working with local businesses and the municipality to try to reduce the use of plastic bags through education. Ongoing habitat and biodiversity projects. Outreach project focus on delivery of an growth forest symposium. Research project studying tree ages in and around Whistler. Support efforts to become a zero waste community. Zero Waste Heroes-reducing waste generated by events ecoACTIVE Whistler - community greenhouse and garden program ecoFLIX - screening enviro films four times a year Forest Fire Symposium
Summer youth nature camp. Two habitat creation projects. Fee-for-service work for the Whistler municipality-to educate and create tools to help local businesses prepare for new bylaw mandating food waste collections.

A-MATAW-MIKOSIT AWASISAK TEEN SUPPORT AND DAYCARE CENTRE INC.

We provide childcare for teen parents attending high school. We also provide child care for community if space is available. We are a licensed daycare with 14 spaces. We provide guidance & support for parents. Teen parents provide own transportation when they can.
We provide presentations by inviting special speakers to educate teen parents. We also offer a special credit to put towards their total of credits which helps the goal of graduating.
